Moustapha Adéwolé Lawani holds a bachelor’s degree in economic science and a master’s degree in applied economics from the University of Abomey-Calavi (UAC) in Benin. Since 2021, he has been enrolled in the Doctoral Research Program in climate change economics at the West Africa Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) at Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD) in Dakar, Senegal. His doctoral research topic is “Climate-Smart Agriculture and Climate Resilience of Farmers,” which comprehensively assesses the adoption and sustainability of climate-smart practices and the resilience of farmers in developing and African countries, particularly in the Republic of Benin.
Moustapha is currently at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany, for a four-month research stay at the Chair of Bio-economy in the Economic Institute. During this period, he is focusing on analyzing the sustainability of fertilizer subsidy policy through the environmental dimension. This research aims to find the conditions for a green fertilizer subsidy policy that satisfies the three dimensions of sustainability: economic, social, and environmental.
