Fatoumata Yattara is a WASCAL scholar at KNUST (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology) in Kumasi, Ghana. As part of her doctoral thesis and in preparation for a main household survey scheduled for September 2026, Fatou conducted a preliminary field mission from August 2 to 6, 2026, in the Koulikoro Circle of Mali. The mission’s objectives included establishing initial contacts with relevant technical services, assessing the availability of secondary data, identifying study villages, and evaluating conditions for implementing the forthcoming household survey. During her travels from Bamako to Koulikoro, she held several institutional meetings with key technical authorities, successfully pinpointing villages that will serve as study sites for her ongoing research.
